Sarah Caporn ~ Your Sewing Teacher

Do you ever look at sewing tutorials and wish you could make your own version come to life?  Not quite sure where to start?

Then you’re in the right place.

I love sewing, and sharing my skills and knowledge truly makes my eyes sparkle and heart sing. It’s also my superpower.

We all know that sewing isn’t necessary in the modern world. Gone are the days when you needed to churn out children’s clothing or stitch a quilt for your marital bed. But there is nothing quite like the feel of quality fabrics and using your hands to create something that’s exactly what you want – the colours, the patterns, the dimensions.

Something unique. Something that’s yours.

Learning via kits

While I love to sew, I was fed up with dragging my kids around a fabric store and still not being sure I had everything I needed. So I decided to do something about it.

I’ve created a series of gorgeous, mail-able project kits with everything you need to start and finish a sewing project, including detailed instructions that leave your precious creative time frustration-free.

My kits include everything you need. Materials, instructions, tricks and tips. You can start and finish at times that suit you and flourish in your own creative freedom!

You can also ask questions at any stage of your project by joining our Facebook group. The community there are also lifelong learners who want to share assistance, expertise and inspiration to support you as you learn.

And all by mail?

The internet is an amazing tool and has transformed how we live and learn in our lives but let’s not forget how great old-fashioned snail mail is.

Once you place your order, you get to feel the giddy anticipation of checking your mailbox for the kit that will kick-start your creativity. My kits will provide you with a good strong base from which you can explore the wealth of tutorials and patterns online – you may even venture into a proper fabric shop!

Some more about me

I live in rural Western Australia.  I love living in the country; there are so many things that I enjoy about the rhythm of life out here. Being a long way from a fabric shop isn’t one of them (thank goodness for online, I love fabric parcels in the mail!). When I finally pull myself out from behind my sewing machine, you’ll find me tending a sadly neglected garden with a G&T in hand while the kids bounce on the trampoline. I may also be found occasionally in the sheep yards helping my farmer husband.

Now that you know a little more about me, are you ready to get started? Choose your first project.

My daughter and I attended a class with Sarah.  It was very well organised, the written instructions were well laid out and easy to follow.  Sarah’s verbal instructions were clear and she was super helpful, very encouraging and makes you feel totally at ease with asking questions.  We enjoyed the class so much that we went home and sewed up a storm!

The packs that you put together with instructions are fantastic, and for this non-sewer, you have given me confidence to try and branch out and do a few projects by myself.  Thank you Sarah.

My shopping experience with Sarah from Hunting for Ladybugs was wonderful!  I received my goods promptly and they were beautifully wrapped; it was just like Christmas!  The beautiful quality of Sarah’s products has made me a huge fan…  I will definitely be regularly visiting her store to see what’s new.
